To accelerate the industrialization process and facilitate economic development of Niger State towards national competitiveness

MISSION

Providing integrated infrastructural facilities that will enhance economic and industrial development of Niger State and establishing national and international partnerships and linkages that will actualize the objectives of the Agency.

INTRODUCTION

Niger state is the largest in terms of land representing about 10% of Nigeria landmass with a population of about 6.5 million. It is an agrarian state with less economic activities and one of the least industrialized state in the country, sequel to above scenario the Niger State Government establishment this agency to fast-track industrial and economic development through Science, Technology and Industrial parks, clusters, incubators, enterprise zones and innovation centers.

CONCEPT

The concept of Industrial Park is to fast track industrial development and enhance economic activities in the industrially disadvantage areas (States) through the development of a world-class infrastructural facilities with strategic business support packages that will meet the needs of industrialists and manufacturers of all sizes and types sourced both on- shore and off-shore. The Industrial park concept occurs at different levels and stages which include parks, clusters, free trade zones, enterprise zones etc.

Industrial Parks

These are mega parks span of land covering area of about 5 – 50KM2 for large manufacturing companies with high value addition in the production of finished products or raw material processing.

Science & Technology Parks

These are specialized manufacturing establishment with specialized infrastructure where specialized professionals stimulate the flow of knowledge and technology amongst higher/research institutions-companies/markets facilitating the creation and growth of innovation-based industries through incubation and spin-off processes with value addition.

Enterprise Zones

These are platforms of 5-10 hectares targeted at scaling up the informal sector operators to alleviate their problems with in an industrial parks

Industrail Clusters

These are oasis of industrial activities covering areas of between 100 – 1000 hectares for medium sized industries/manufacturing companies.

Free Trade Zones

These are oasis of economic activities usually situated in the proximity of international entry/exit boarders
